Set
Sail for an unforgettable day on this special sailing yacht. This tour
encompasses sailing, site seeing and incredible snorkeling on a
comfortable sailboat with ample space for those that wish to catch some
rays while we sail the calm tropical waters between the Islands of St
Thomas and St. John while enjoying a champagne or a cold beer from the open
bar.
This custom built 61 foot classic sailboat is truly a rare
treasure. She is a wonderful example of the classic grace and beauty of
yachts designed and built before the days of mass production. She was
custom built in Sweden in 1956 and has
been completely rebuilt to
incorporate the comfort and safety requirements of our passengers today.
The updated deck layout insures ample seating for the best possible day
sail experience.
This stunning vessel is crewed by the highly experience Captain/Owner
who has been sailing her for over 30 years.
The Champagne Sailing Excursion begins with a continental breakfast
on deck including coffee, pastries and fresh fruit and Bloody Mary's if
you so choose.
Following your breakfast we head off on an exhilarating sail across
Pilsbury sound towards the quieter destination of St John, with the
British Virgin Island and the smaller cays of the USVI as a backdrop
This tour includes two snorkeling destinations which are determined by
the Captain based on
the wind and sea conditions of the day. Hawksnest
Bay is one
of our favorites for the first stop. Here you will find calm water, and
incredible clarity, with visibility often 40-80ft!. Coral formations,
tropical fish, and turtles abound.
Your second stop, will likewise provide amazing snorkeling. Caneel
Bay being a favorite second stop for snorkeling. Huge shoals of tiny
baitfish abound here and you will see the larger jacks and snapper
chasing them in waves of silver around the boat, while pelicans and
other seabirds swoop in to join the feast.
After snorkeling your 2nd stop, its time for lunch, with Caribbean
chicken and pasta salad and
some devilled eggs. Drinks service
is second to none, with champagne, mimosas, and hibiscus cocktails being
a house specialty, not to mention choice of cold beers and a full open
bar.
Then,
its time to set the sails again, and head back down the coast of this
wonderful national park area (and hang out of the rich and famous).
Passing the famous Caneel resort built by Rockerfeller in the late 40’s,
you can stretch out on deck with a cool drink and play millionaire, at
least for the rest of the afternoon.
